ATI Radeon HD 5870 includes three video ports: two Mini DisplayPorts and one dual-link DVI port. This allows you to connect the 24-inch Apple LED Cinema Display plus another Mini DisplayPort-based display, and a DVI-based display such as the 30-inch Apple Cinema HD Display.

Compatibility:

  • Requires Mac Pro (Mid 2010) or Mac Pro (Early 2009) with PCI Express 2.0 slot
  • Requires: Mac OS X v10.6.4 or later

This card it has been tested and found to work with all model Mac Pro's. There are some limitations when using the card in an older Mac Pro.

Mac Pro, mid 2010 - 3 simulaneous displays are supported

Mac Pro, early 2009 - 2 simultaneous displays are supported on any two ports. When a 3rd display is connected, the DVI port will be deactivated

Mac Pro, early 2008 - 2 simultaneous displays are supported on any two ports. When a 3rd display is connected, the DVI port will be deactivated

Mac Pro, late 2006 - 2 simultaneous displays are supported on any two ports. When a 3rd display is connected, the DVI port will be deactivated
